Spend an evening enjoying great food and excellent company. The Westwood Neighbors Dinner is intended to not be just a ‘pot-luck’, but more of a coordinated adventure with delicious and epicurean delights -but in a relaxed and informal setting. Each event is limited to 6 or 8 diners, depending upon the Host's preferences. The small group size will allow opportunities for great conversations and deepening friendships.
Prior to each event, the host will designate a culinary region or ethnic theme for the meal. And the host will prepare the main course. The guests will coordinate responsibility for the following:
- Appetizers and Salad
- Two or more side dishes
- Desert and Wine
With the guests taking responsibility for a significant portion of the dinner, the burden for the Host is lessened, hopefully, allowing for greater participation than just being the cook.
We hope that you will join with us in the enjoyment of getting to know your neighbors in a context that is relaxing and fun. This is an opportunity to meet folks you may not know and get to know them better, as well spend time in the company of your neighbors and friends.
When you are ready to host, just let us know and we will add your details and send out the announcements. Experience indicates that Saturday nights are best -but definitely not the only option. It will be great when there are several Westwood Neighbor Dinners occuring each month.
After you have experienced at least one Dinner event, you may submit additional neighbors to join the circle.
Intentionally, there is a little bit of chaos involved here. We may not know exactly who will be coming to dinner (sounds like a movie...), or we may be going to a home of someone that we've never had an opportunity to know beyond the minimal pleasantries. But it is a closed circle, neighbors, and neighbors of neighbors. With a little trust in serendipity, this could be fun.
